What kind of events are you available to perform at?
A whole range! I have played at weddings, birthdays, private gatherings and cooperate events. I have played in people’s gardens and even on an allotment! I always think that live music helps any event become even more special.
Can I come and see you play live?
Yes of course, drop me an email and I can let you know when I am next playing a public gig. I could even organise a short performance over Skype for you if you can’t make a performance.
How far are you prepared to travel?
I travel mainly in England and Wales. If you’d like me to travel further to play for you then let me know. Sometimes it’s not practical to travel to a performance and back home in the same day so if this is the case there will be a cost for reasonable accommodation and incidentals factored in. I am always happy to provide a breakdown of cost.
I want to book! What happens now?
Get in contact with me via email with all the details and I will reply to you as soon as I can. If I am available on the date you’d like, I’d request a deposit to secure the booking which I prefer to be paid by BACS. Once you have confirmed the booking I will send you a form to complete to make sure I have all the correct details for the event and your contact details.
When do you need the remaining balance paid?
I ask for this to be paid via BACS at least five days before the event. I always find it is best not to deal with cash on the day as it allows you to focus on enjoying the event rather than paying me! However, if you’d prefer to pay in cash then that is fine.
Do you ever play with a band or other musicians?
Yes, I do sometimes play as a duo with my friend Caitlin who is a wonderful singer. I can also play as a duo with a keyboard or percussion player and I do have a group of musicians including a brilliant double bass player. If you are interested in booking me as a duo or full band then let me know. This does cost more than booking myself as a solo performer!
Do you play with amplification or acoustically?
Most of the time I would need some amplification but I can also play without a speaker if this is what you’d prefer.
How does it work on the day for you?
Before the day I will get in touch with the venue directly (if you are not the venue booking me). I will then arrive around an hour before my performance time to set up. I only really need a small space (approximately 2m x 2m) and for it to be close to a plug socket. If you are wanting me to perform outside then please ensure there is a plug socket I can get my extension cable to. I have two different speaker system that I can use which you can see in the photos above. I also use fairy lights and static lights to decorate my performance space if this is appropriate. We can work out the performance times and breaks during the booking process.
My venue insists that all performers have Public Liability Insurance/PAT testing certificates. Do you have these?
Yes I have both of these. I am a member of the Musicians Union and have PLI (Public Liability Insurance) with them. I have a full PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) certificate for my equipment and would be happy to send this to you or directly to the venue.
Are you able to learn a special song?
Yes I always enjoy learning new songs so if you send me a YouTube or Spotify link I will take a listen. Sometimes, however, some songs are just too hard to cover well on an acoustic guitar! I have learnt many special songs for wedding ceremonies and birthdays.
What will you wear on the day?
I will always be smart in trousers, a shirt and shoes and I often wear braces or a waistcoat too. If you have a specific theme for your event then do let me know!
Will you require food?
No, but if you are offering then that would be lovely! I am a veggie!
If you have any further questions just let me know and I would be more than happy to answer them for you.
